Alice Homer and Tidy Town claimed the Small Show Hunter class at the 2026 Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), securing the coveted 'Small Show Hunter of the Year' title. This was reported by the British equestrian magazine Horse & Hound on October 8, 2026. Red Valentine, ridden by Will Morton, took second place.
Undefeated on the Way to Another Title
The ten-year-old Tidy Town, known as 'Guinness,' is by Superior Premium out of Ricardos Trump. With Alice Homer, he was undefeated in the Small Hunter classes during the 2026 season leading up to HOYS. Rachel Moore Rooney judged the ride, while Susan Stockley-Bridges assessed the conformation.
Homer describes Tidy Town's development: As a young horse, he particularly loved large rings with plenty of space to gallop. Now, he's matured and can present himself with control even in a smaller arena.
A Season of Multiple Titles
The pair's successes include titles at the Royal International Horse Show, the British Show Pony Society Summer Championships, and the British Show Horse Association National Championships. At the Royal International Horse Show, Tidy Town won his third Small Hunter title and his fifth title overall at that show.
He also claimed the overall Hunter Championship at the British Show Horse Association National Championships. At HOYS, Homer had already won the Intermediate Show Hunter title with the Irish Sport Horse in the previous season.
