Rider | Horsewoman | Stable Staff Wanted
At Stal Doorstap, we are committed to the welfare and training of horses and ponies that, for various reasons, could no longer stay with their previous owners. Our goal is to find a new home for each horse and pony. The well-being of the animals is our top priority, which is why we spare no expense to give them the best possible feeling. Veterinarian, farrier, and osteopath visit regularly, and the horses are also examined by a vet. Every horse and pony deserves attention, which is why we are looking for a team of riders who are dedicated to caring for the animals. We want to strengthen our team!
We have a beautiful facility in Achtmaal with an indoor arena, outdoor arena, covered horse walker and lunging circle, correction jumping areas, as well as spacious stalls where the horses can have contact with each other and enjoy plenty of turnout.
Your tasks
Your main task is the general care of the horses and ponies. Clean stalls, feeding, and sufficient exercise ensure that the animals are always ready to meet potential new owners. In addition, the horses are backed, exercised, and corrected as needed. So you also help kindly with improving the horses and ponies. Accompanying customers and presenting the horses are also part of your activities.
Additional opportunities
If you wish, we also offer the opportunity to expand your work. For example, it is possible to present horses at competitions, including at our annual show. If a basis of trust is established, there is also the possibility to take on administrative tasks and gain insights into business management.
Your profile
For work during the week during the day and/or on Saturdays, we are looking for a reliable, committed, and independent person with experience handling horses and ponies – this does not have to be professional experience. We are based in the Netherlands, but a Belgian rider is also warmly welcome. Since we also have large ponies, it is not ideal for the position if you are too tall or too heavy.
Further information
The work takes place from Monday to Saturday; we are closed on Sundays. Whether full-time, part-time, or on specific days – this can be discussed individually. An on-site position is possible, and you will then receive a comfortable, independent accommodation.
