Exterior:
Kalmann presents himself as a well-developed, elegant, and long-lined colt foal with harmonious proportions and very strong foundation. The neck is long, set high, and slender, the expression fine. The body is overall cylindrical and elegantly built, with good leg length and quality. The good uprightness underscores his modern, sporty type.
Character:
He shows himself cooperative and brave, with clear expression and good forwardness. His reactions are in the middle range. Thus he presents himself in the test as attentive, willing to perform, and with a positive readiness to cooperate.
Gaits:
Noteworthy are his good uprightness, stride length, and gait separation, as well as appealing movement mechanics. He shows a clear natural tölt predisposition with good rhythm and very good phases, which are also explicitly highlighted in the judge's comment. Trot and canter are also shown with good rhythm and good suppleness. The pace predisposition is slightly expressed. Overall, at the current time, a clear four-gaited orientation with much natural tölt predisposition is evident.
Training level: Foal ABC
Who suits me:
Kalmann is an interesting young horse for riders who are looking for a horse with good natural tölt predisposition and sporty perspective. His combination of elegant exterior, good uprightness, clear gait separation, and cooperative character makes him interesting both for later sporty promotion and for demanding leisure riders.
Sire:
Bragi is a beautiful five-gaited stallion with five equally outstanding gaits. He is a black beauty with a stately size of 1.53 m. Bragi is elegantly built with long legs and lots of mane. Due to his extremely polite character, he is incredibly easy to handle as a stallion. Under saddle, he is always spirited, willing, and ready to perform. Bragi has been tested with an overall score of 8.51 FIZO. In exterior he received 8.41 and for his riding qualities 8.58. Character, willingness to perform, and gait ability combine in this great horse!
Bragi's parents are both successful sires! His sire is the well-known Álfur frá Selfossi, honorary prize winner and Landsmót winner. At the Landsmót he was judged at six years old with an overall score of 8.46 – as a four-gaiter, mind you! He is a son of the legendary Orri frá Þúfu and his dam is none other than Álfadís frá Selfossi – who is one of the most successful broodmares worldwide. Bragi's dam Björk frá Litlu-Tungu 2 (8.49) is a daughter of Spuni frá Miðsitju. She achieved at four years old (!) a FIZO riding quality score of 8.74 and has already produced several award-winning offspring.
Bragi's offspring are large, elegant, and long-legged with lots of tölt, an exceptionally sweet temperament, and great appearance.
Condition:
Kalmann is in very good condition and feeding state. He is eczema-free and comes from an eczema-free parental line.
