NighHopes Malfournier – Foal Fjord, 2023 – Optimist Halsnaes x Armonie d’Ober (by Valdemann) – 1.41 m – Isabelle
NighHopes Malfournier is a young Fjord gelding, born in 2023, currently standing about 1.41 m at the withers. Freshly backed, he delights with his handsome exterior, natural balance, and above all his friendly, willing, and energetic temperament.
Still at the beginning of his training, he represents a promising project for a rider who wants to train their own pony – both for dressage and jumping, with a real focus on eventing.
The offspring of the breeding pair Optimist Halsnaes x Armonie d’Ober (by Valdemann) shows a modern and sporty profile, while retaining the mental qualities and versatility sought in Fjords.
Recognized at So’Pony 2026
NighHopes took part in the So’Pony 2026 event, where he achieved a very good overall score of 15.26/20:
- 15.65/20 for conformation
- 14.38/20 for free jumping
- 15.63/20 for walk, trot, and canter
These results particularly highlight the quality of his conformation and movement.
In addition to the free jumping evaluation that day, NighHopes also shows real jumping qualities at home, with very good behavior over poles and particularly promising abilities for the future.
In Training
NighHopes was backed in June 2026 and continues his learning gradually according to his age.
Currently, he is working on the basics of dressage, developing in all three basic gaits, and is already being introduced to hacking out. He is also regularly shown free jumping, where he demonstrates very good aptitude.
At only 3 years old, his training is deliberately age-appropriate. The goal is to consolidate his progress so far and gradually continue his education, so that later, when he reaches the appropriate age, he can gain first competition experience.
Calm and balanced, he also has energy and shows a willingness to work. However, like any young, freshly backed horse, he requires a rider with solid basic knowledge and appropriate support.
Temperament & Daily Life
NighHopes is a friendly, calm, balanced, and willing young horse.
In daily life, he is already easy to handle:
- Easy to care for
- Used to transport
- Easy to clip
- Goes out hacking both alone and in company
- Used to paddock living
For which project?
NighHopes is particularly suitable for a committed amateur who wants to train their own pony and build a real bond with it.
His profile allows for various uses: dressage, jumping, leisure riding, hacking, and eventing.
His natural qualities, both in movement and jumping, offer a particularly interesting foundation to gradually develop his sporting potential according to the ambitions of his future rider.
Still at the beginning of his career, NighHopes above all offers the opportunity to complete his training entirely from the ground up – with a young Fjord who already shows harmonious conformation, beautiful gaits, and real jumping qualities.
His results at So’Pony 2026, especially the 15.65/20 for conformation and 15.63/20 for walk, trot, and canter, confirm the high quality of this young pony and his promising potential for the future.
